Auto-updater

Usage

Our games starting from Ren’ai × Royale have an integrated auto-updater. You don't need to do anything to invoke it; the game launches the updater automatically if updates are available.

Click Update to start the update, or don't update to reject it. If you choose not to update, the update will appear the next time you launch the game. See below for instructions to disable the updater.

While the update is in progress, the updater shows the file currently being updated, download progress and total progress.

After the update, the updater gives you a button to relaunch the game.

Disabling update checking

If you don't want the update checks at all, launch NekoNyanUpdater.exe (or the separate UpdateSettings.exe in older games) directly.

Just untick the checkbox and close the program. You can relaunch it and tick the checkbox again if you change your mind.

Does it stop the game from "phoning home?"

Yes. The option disables update checking entirely rather than merely preventing the updater from showing.

Troubleshooting

The updater stores a log at %TEMP%\NekoNyanUpdater.log. If the updater is crashing, failing, or has other issues, type %TEMP% to File Explorer address bar, press Enter, find NekoNyanUpdater.log and send the file to us for analysis.
